Thank You Fishbone
Sometimes I forget how much of a Fishbone fan I am. I own every one of the their albums from the “Fishbone” EP thru “Crazy Glue.” I’ve seen them almost every time they come to NYC and in several other cities on the East Coast. And, as a band, I’ve always said we have to be “Fishbone tight.”
I forget because, like my tattoos, they are a part of me, just a normal part of my life. Several CDs are always in view, and I can fire them up on my computer or iPhone at any moment. Of course I have a “Fishbone” Pandora channel and a few albums in Spotify.
I watch live videos of them on YouTube; I watch/read the exploits of Dr. Madd Vibe; check out videos of Norwood talking about his bass technique (I’ll never tire of listening to “Bonin’ in the Boneyard” – one of the top 10 badest, rock bass lines ever!).
I am acutely aware of how they haven’t reached the level of success of their contemporaries they’ve influenced, but I don’t dwell on that. I, instead, enjoy the happiness they bring me.
Fishbone. Rock the fuck on!
Rock Hard! Rock Sexy!
